  We chose Mastercraft because we really liked one of their floor plans - We chose one of their ranch models and made some minor changes to the layout. That being said, my first mistake was assuming that the sales rep we worked with was listening to us and taking notes. The second mistake was beginning the build process in December. I assumed this was not a big deal to build in the winter in WI but realized very quickly that it was. Thirdly, the quality of several of the contractors was extremely poor. Overall, communications between us (The customer) and our sales rep was worse than I've ever experienced! There was several times that I never did get a response to a text, voicemail and/or email. I would also say that had I not gone to the build site almost daily, there would have been many, many, many mistakes to correct after the fact. Again, mainly because there was such poor communication beginning with the sales rep. We are still fixing several (Mainly minor) issues four months after we've moved in. One of the strangest issues was the small pillars in the front entryway - The carpenter that originally attempted to construct failed three times to make them straight before another carpenter had to come in and completely rebuild! Bottom line, I would be more than happy to talk to anyone that is thinking of building with Mastercraft to give you our thoughts on our experience including the good, the not so good and the ugly.
